Another chapter in my crafty adventures!

So I have been away on a very much needed Easter holiday! After getting back from a few days visiting my dad for his birthday (lots of drunken games of Pictionary are defiantly good for a laugh!) I came home to find my new sewing machine had been delivered! I'm very excited! already I haven't stopped sewing. I haven't done much sewing since school and I finished my very first solo project yesterday... it's not the most technically challenging project but I'm very pleased with the results and I'm very proud of myself. Sewing has always been my mountain and I have finally conquered it! Here is my cushion it's taken pride of place on my sofa!

Inspired by my new found love of sewing I decided to add in a couple of my fabric favorites from the talented makers of the Crafty Folk team on Etsy.

Moody Cow Designs

Whimsy Woo Designs

Bonnies Sew Crazy

Till next time

Enjoy :)

Introductions are a very important thing!

So here we are first post! This blog is about my work, hobbies and other general snippets from my life.

First things first...introductions. My name is Lucy, I'm a metal clay artist living and working in Suffolk. I have a full time day job but spend most of my spare time making jewellery and dabbling in other crafts. I discovered metal clay last year and was amazed by what seemed like a modern form of alchemy... since then I have become passionate not just about making jewellery but all crafts and the amazing and talented people I have met since jumping into the craft world head first!

I have always enjoyed being creative and come from a family full of artists and crafty people. My mother creates the most fantastic pieces of cross stitch, my sister can work magic with a sewing machine,  my aunty created Butterscotch & Beesting and my grandparents are incredibly talented potters, My grandmothers work can be found here  Hanne Westergaard. My family have been very supportive in helping me find my creative outlet. My partner deserves a special mention here for putting up with my crafting obsessions!

I opened my Etsy shop at the end of last month and have been very pleased with the success I have had. It's an amazing feeling knowing that someone has seen your item and liked it enough to buy it and not just people from the UK but from all over the world! I got very excited when I posted out my first order to the U.S!

When I'm not working on my jewellery or have my nose stuck in craft books deciding what project to take on next I'm always busy taking care of my animals I have always had a love of all creatures big and small, and I'm always kept company by my four lovable but very naughty cats!

I really hope you will visit my shop and have a look around... and if you see something you like you can use the coupon code THANKYOU at check out for 5% off your order!...just to say well thank you :)
